New exciting changes coming to DROP heaters in May 2025
Overall changes to the design of the heater body:
Two pre-installed metal support rods on the sides to prevent heating elements from touching each other from the bottom and the top
The heating elements spacer is pre-installed to prevent direct contact at their lower ends and can be removed when replacing the elements; this is introduced to enhance durability and protection
The new support rods
Heating elements spacer
Changes to the DROP 4.5 and 6:
The new pre-installed heating elements retainer on the top prevents them from moving forward or to the sides
The retainer is only compatible with the updated DROP versions since there were some structural changes being made as well
Installation of the retainer of DROP 4 and 6
Changes to the DROP 7.5 and 9:
The material that the heating elements retainer (or the mesh) is made of has been changed from sheet metal to wire to prevent it from deforming under extreme heat while allowing for better airflow
The new mesh is less prone to bending and pre-installed in the factory
Stones should only be placed on or around the mesh, but never below it or in-between the heating elements
A slightly larger electrical compartment to accommodate the additional heat reflector that has been added to reduce the transfer of heat to the compartment
Terminal block in the electrical compartment has been moved to the side; Ground connection has also been moved for better load distribution; extra heat-resistant silicon gaskets are added for better waterproofing; heating elements are now 5mm shorter to create more room and reduce temperature inside the compartment
Installation of the retainer of DROP 7 and 9
The new welded mesh support
Some additional changes:
The safety label in the form of a durable metallic data plate is added to the bottom front of the heater instead of as a back sticker
The logo is now produced using stamping technology instead of being welded onto the plate previously
How to properly place sauna stones?
Please ensure the heater is turned off and all parts are correctly installed first before laying the stones.
For DROP 4.5 and DROP 6: It’s okay to lay stones between the heating elements, but do prevent pushing them too hard that they bend the elements!
For DROP 7 and DROP 9: Do NOT remove the mesh support and do NOT lay stones between the heating elements!
Pro tips:
Place larger stones at the bottom, smaller ones at the top, and use flat ones to fill any gaps, and work your way from bottom to top
The elements should NOT be visible when viewing from the top and shouldn’t have direct contact with water
Do NOT pack stones too tightly as we need airflow to pass around the stones
NEVER, ever spray water directly onto the heating elements as it will shorten their lifespan significantly
You may want to have some replacement stones on hand as they do crack over time
